Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we ate lunch at Daniel's grandmother's house. It was a bit cramped, but it was fun seeing everyone again. Holland has two cousins now. Samuel, who is 14 months, and Cecilia, who is 10 weeks. Our family has so much to be thankful for. I love this time of year when we can all slow down and really think about what is truly important in our lives. I have an incredible, loving husband that has more patience than I ever will. Together we have a gorgeous, smart little angel. Being a mother is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am very blessed to have my family and friends. I hate that they are not as close as I would like them to be, but they all know how much we love and miss them. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The perfect little bumble bee

Holland had such a blast dressing up for Halloween. She was the sweetest little bumble bee I've ever seen. We made it about 3 houses down before she got upset with me. She did not quite understand why I would not let her go in anyone's house. She had a great time anyway. I also found out that night that apparently I'm not a very good mother because I don't let my 15 month old sit down with a big pile of chocolate. Nevertheless, we're still a happy family!

Having fun outside

Holland is loving on our neighbor, Sunny.

Our little bumble bee

I decided it was time for some new pictures and a little update. Holland has decided to be a bumble bee for Halloween. She's wearing part of her costume, but we were just playing around. She has a new little pink tutu that her daddy thinks is silly, but I can't help it. She is just too adorable and I am having fun with my little girl. She loves to dance so I thought it was very appropriate. We're planning on trick-or-treating at our families' houses. I can't wait for those pictures.

I hope you all enjoy!

Our little piano player

Funny story about the piano. Holland and I were visiting our cousins Kat and her little boy Samuel in Baton Rouge this summer. On one of our walks her neighbor stopped us and asked if we wanted a piano. I claimed it! Daniel was of course thrilled when I told him I got a free piano, the only catch was we had to drag it from Baton Rouge to Monroe. In the end it all worked out fine and Holland LOVES playing. One day she'll get lessons, until then we just play.

Sandy hands!

She didn't really like getting her hands dirty.

Holland loved playing in the sand in Orange Beach

We went to Orange Beach in July this summer. It was Holland's first trip to the beach and she absolutely loved it. Her favorite was when the waves would come up to her. I've never seen a happier baby.

This year has flown by

I cannot believe Daniel and I have a one year old. This past year has flown by. Just a little update with Holland, she started walking at 10 months, and started running shortly after that. She LOVES music. Anytime she hears music she stops what she's doing to dance. Sometimes I'll put her shoes on and she'll "tap dance" on the wood floor. It is too precious. She just got her 12 months shots last week and they are really doing a number on her. She's been running a little fever and just hasn't been feeling well the past two day. I'm very thankful I've been able to stay home with her.

As you may know, Louisiana was hit with hurricane Gustav this week. We are all fine, but I can't say the same for our nursing building at school. A new roof was supposed to be put on over the summer, but something happend and they didn't start until the day we started school. To make a long story short, the roof was incomplete and caved in during all of the wind and rain. It will take approximately a year to rebuild. Until then we've been lucky enough to find classrooms around campus to accomodate the whole school of nursing.
